Rose Y. Rossi went to be with her Lord and Savior on, Monday, April 28th, 2025 at the Passavant Community in Zelienople.
Rose was born on October 3rd, 1922 in McComas, WV to the late Alphonso and Chlorinda (Marinucci) Giacobbi. At the age of 6, Rose and her family moved to Ellwood City, where she would remain until she was 99. She graduated from Lincoln High School, with honors, with the class of 1941. Rose worked for the Aetna Standard Engineering/ Blaw Knox for years, first in the payroll department from 1942-1951 and then in the engineering division as a stenographer from 1969-1985. She is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, as well as the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers, Golden Agers, and the Corona D’Italia Lodge 807. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed time visiting with and feeding family.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Dean) Ference of Cranberry Township, grandchildren, Rosalie Rossi of TX, Kathleen (David) Tyler of TX, Kevin (Erin) Ference of Evans City, and Greg Ference of Pittsburgh, great-grandchildren, Ryan Tyler, Addie Ference and Nathan Ference, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ernest A. Rossi, whom she married on July 15th, 1944, 58 years together when he passed away on June 18, 2002. They honeymooned at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, setting up a long history of vacationing at Cedar Point with family, cousins, aunts, and uncles for generations. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Angelo Grenga, her son, Dennis Rossi, daughter-in-law, Peggi Gilmore-Rossi, and her sisters and their spouses, Josephine (Frank) DeCaria, Inese (James) Bellissimo, Helen (Angelo) Lordi, and Florence (Joseph) Folino.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st, 2025 from 3:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home & Crematory. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 2nd, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joseph Freedy Officiating. Christian Mothers are asked to meet in the back of church at 10:50 a.m. to form an honor guard. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery in the Resurrection Mausoleum.
