Judith Ann Simon, 78

Mrs. Judith Ann Simon, 78, of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2025, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 4th, 1946, to Randall and Eunice Williams in Youngstown Ohio. Judith graduated from Hubbard High School in 1964 and after various jobs she began her career in nursing. She graduated with a degree in Nursing from CCBC in 1981. She was a devoted nurse and found her passion in caring for patients and families. Judith later served as a Nursing Supervisor for the Skilled Nursing Unit of Ellwood City Hospital.

Judith met her husband John in Ellwood City through mutual family friends and eventually married on October 8, 1966, in Hubbard, Ohio. Throughout Judith and John’s marriage, travel was a highlight of their life. Traveling to Aruba, Hawaii, Mexico, Spain, and taking Caribbean Cruises. She loved the beach and exploring new destinations.

One of her favorite hobbies was attending Bingo. She enjoyed years of camping and fishing at Shenango Lake Campground and Geneva on the Lake. Judith was also a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She and John traveled to Detroit in 2006 to attend Superbowl 40.

She was an active community volunteer, member, and prior officer of the Ellwood City Municipal Women’s Club, Wurtemburg-Perry Ladies Auxiliary, Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers, Hungarian Women’s Club, and a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.

Following her retirement from nursing, she enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, baking cookies, doing arts and crafts, and swimming.

The “Queen” as she was lovingly referred to by her family, was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Judith is survived by her spouse, two children Christine (Dana) Fenner and John (Suzanne) Simon, grandchildren Amber (Ryan) Ennis, Steven Piper, Kristen Simon, and a great-granddaughter, Molly Ennis. Siblings include her brother Randy (Debbie) Williams, MaryBeth (Ed) Williams, Elaine Shatti, Paula (Joe) Attalla and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father Joseph Freedy officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Wednesday by 10:20 am to form an honor guard.

Memorial contributions in Mrs. Simon’s name may be made to; Divine Grace Parish Social Services.
