HARRISBURG – Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47), who today was sworn in to serve his fifth term with the Pennsylvania State Senate, plans to focus on prioritizing jobs, fiscal responsibility, and agricultural advancements in Pennsylvania.
As the new session begins, Vogel will be shifting his focus to addressing several agricultural advancements, specifically modernizing Pennsylvania’s Over Order Premium to improve its effectiveness and fairness within the dairy industry, as well as helping develop policies that use taxpayer dollars wisely and increase family-sustaining jobs.
“With the start of any new legislative session comes the time for fresh ideas and developing new paths forward to make our commonwealth better for current and future generations,” said Vogel. “I am excited to help advance not only our priorities, which have always included creating and maintaining family sustaining jobs and ensuring Pennsylvanians keep more of their dollars in their pockets, but other important agricultural priorities as well.”
During the 2023-24 legislative session, Vogel made great strides in propelling Pennsylvania’s healthcare industry forward with two key laws he sponsored which expanded access to not only telemedicine (Act 42 of 2024) but to sexual assault nurse practitioners (SANEs) (Act 59 of 2024) across the state.
Additionally, following the aftermath of the East Palestine train derailment, he was the coprime sponsor of legislation that provided a tax exemption for residents who received payments from the federal or state government or Norfolk Southern as a result of the derailment. This was enacted through the Tax Reform Code in the 2024-25 state budget.
Vogel represents the 47th Senatorial District which consists of Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties.

This is a joke. I personally went to Senator Vogel’s office when starting my business a couple years ago as I needed assistance with a state agency. While I never had any need to seek any help from his office, I had high hopes for a long-standing local politician that appeared to do a lot of good for the community. His office never responded despite several follow up attempts and was completely unprofessional. If you want to truly help your constituents grow and prosper, then have the decency to say no when your office cannot help. It’s better than bragging about how great you are.
