Ryan D. Russo, 43, formerly of Ellwood City passed away in St. Petersburgh, Florida, in a heroic effort he made to save his girlfriend’s life in 2018, after pushing her out of the way of an erratic driver, Ryan was left in a coma which later claimed his life on September 5th, 2024 .
Ryan was born on October 8th, 1980 to Peter and Lorraine (Izzo) Russo-Fresca. He attended both Lincoln High School and the Lawrence County Vo-Technical School. In Florida Ryan worked as a handyman for various construction companies. He loved writing and listening to music. Ryan also enjoyed watching movies, playing baseball, and was an avid reader.
He is survived by his daughter, Ryahna Russo of Pittsburgh, his mother, Lorraine, sisters, Brandi (Ron Newton) Russo, and Jordyn (Bryan) Pauletich, nieces, Kaziah (Cody Michaels) McAnallen, and Kardyn and Adaryn Pauletich, and nephews, Brooklyn Bauder-Taranto and Maceo Pesce.
He was preceded in death by his father, Peter, cousin, Shayne Bauder, maternal-grandparents, Michael and Phyllis Jean Izzo, and paternal-grandmother, Josephine Russo.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 from 2:00 pm until the time of memorial service at 4:00 p.m. at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., with pastor Dennis Ardnt officiating.
