Mr. Edward J. Matscherz, 68, of Franklin Township passed away on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024 at his residence.
Edward was born in Pittsburgh on August 6th, 1955 to the late Martin M. and Helen Jane (Andrews) Matscherz. Ed had graduated from Perry High School, Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Community College of Beaver County with an Associate’s Degree in Architectural Drafting, and from La Roche University where he earned a Degree in Computer Science. He also earned a CDL license from the New Castle School of Trades. Most recently Ed was working at Renodis, formerly known as Eric Ryan Corporation as a Support Tech. Ed was Lutheran by faith and enjoyed the outdoors, mainly hunting and fishing. For many years Ed was a member of the MOOSE Lodge #93 in Ellwood City.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Martin “Mark” and Gailyn Matscherz of Zelienople, his nieces Casandra (Russell) Zoelle, Sara (Erik) Neilson, Meghan Matscherz and her fiancé Gregory Gentile, and Hannah (Jonathan) Darkey, and several great-nieces and nephews. An easy going guy, Ed will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 am until the time of the Family Service at 1:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Interment will follow at the St. Paul’s Cemetery in Zelienople.
