It is with complete sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mrs. Bonnie M. Poff, 77 of Franklin Township, on December 31st, 2023 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Mrs. Poff was born on October 20th, 1946 in Calumet, Pennsylvania to Frank and Zethel (Weightman) Emanuel. She graduated from Hurst (Mt. Pleasant) High School and from Indiana University where she earned her master’s degree in Elementary Education, which was where she met her husband, Mike. Mrs. Poff taught elementary and middle school at both Riverside, and Holy Redeemer Catholic School. She was the first women to serve in the Riverside District School Board. She also worked later for American Greetings. Mrs. Poff is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church where she has been a member for over 55 years. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of over 55 years, Michael “Mike” Poff of Franklin Township, daughters, Lisa (Rich) O’Donovan, Lori (Jason) Lang, son, Michael (Sarah Campbell) Poff Jr., her father, Frank, grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, and Maureen “Mo” O’Donovan, Abby Campbell, and David and Rachel Lang, sisters, Michele (Michael) Buros and Drusilla Emanuel, beloved cats, Franco and Rocky, and many more relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Zethel.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5th from 5-8pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, at 1:00 pm, at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father Jim Wehner officiating.
