  1. Gloria, it’s hard to believe that you’re gone, after having been friends for 45 years…a friendship that lasted longer than most I’ve had. We first met in 1978 through the “afternoon” ministry of the Baptist church I was attending. You had your struggles and could be trying at times, 😊 but it was due to an illness beyond your control. I apologize for not always being patient. I am grateful for the common bond we have in Jesus Christ, the source of comfort and strength which sustained you all these years. You had it tough, suffering with the fear and guilt that often gripped you, but you were faithful to the end and so much closer to the Lord than I’ll ever be. I know you heard the words “…Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord” (Matthew 25:21) when you passed from this life into eternity. George & I were so thankful we had the chance to see you your last day here and share favorite Scripture verses and songs. I hope it brought you some comfort. You are now free…happy and perfectly whole, sitting at the feet of the Savior you loved and served so unashamedly. As Matthew 20:16 says, “…The last shall be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.” Dearest Gloria, you may have felt last here on earth, but you are certainly at the head of the line now. I miss you dearly but look forward to the time we’ll see each other again. Love you, Roxie
