Mrs. Marilyn “Dusty” Minnocci, 76, passed away peacefully in the early mornings of August 9, 2022. She was surrounded by her family. Dusty was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Dusty was born August 12, 1945 to the late Kathryn “Kappy” Linville and the late Paul “Dwayne” Jessop.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963 and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Geneva College.
In March 1966, she married her high school sweetheart Marty Minnocci.
Some of Dusty’s hobbies were baking and cooking and many can attest to her abilities in the kitchen. She touched the lives of countless students at Riverside Middle School where she taught Science. Dusty loved the ocean and took many trips there with family and friends. She never passed up the opportunity to share her knowledge of Science and she will be missed greatly.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Marty, daughters Karen Lucchesi and Missy Minnocci (Laura Foster), and son Marty (Gabe) Minnocci; five grandchildren Kayla Minnocci, Dominic and John Lucchesi, Luca and Giulia Minnocci, and great-granddaughter Amari Minnocci; sister Donna (David) DeCaria: sister-in-law Elaine McDowell; brother-in-law Sam (Jill) Minnocci, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her adopted father, William Harrison, her sister-in-law Karen Hull, her brother-in-law Rick McDowell, and her in-laws Sam and Alma Minnocci.
A mass of Christian burial for Dusty will be held on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022 at the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church at 11:00am with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church by 10:50 am to form an honor guard. The Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. has been entrusted with Dusty’s final arrangements.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Newitt, Pulmonologist at UPMC Presby for her remarkable care and support and all of their friends at the ALS Association Western Pennsylvania Chapter for their assistance through her illness.
