Mr. Albert A. Turner, 94, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, March 18th, 2022 at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Albert was born on June 20th, 1927 in Ellwood City to the late Warren Turner and Dorothy (Nye) Daufen. He attended Lincoln High School and enlisted with the United States Marine Corps on September 4th, 1945 and was honorably discharged on October 31st, 1946 with the rank of Private First Class. Albert worked for Moyer’s Dairy in Fombell for 19 years as the Dairy Plant Manager. He then worked as a custodian for the Riverside High School for 22 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Lillyville Church of God, where he served as an elder, a Sunday school teacher, and a member of the Edith Lightfritz and Senior Bible Class. Albert was known for being an avid fisherman and a competitive athlete, he was an excellent golfer and fast-pitch softball player.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherill (Harold) Glickman of Oakmont, son, Alan (Linda) Turner of West Mifflin, half -sister, Donna Kreiling, grandchildren, Rhonda Turner, Brandon (Mellissa) Turner, and Steven (Jennifer) Turner, great-grandchildren, Ariana, Audrina, Samuel, and Austin Turner, and his last surviving aunt, Ilene White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty A. (Scheidemantle) Turner whom he married on November 11th, 1947 and passed away on June 15th, 2013, granddaughters, Erica and Meredith Glickman, half-sister, Theada D’Ambrosi, half brother Jacob Daufen, and brother-in-law, Doug Kreiling.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 22nd from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday, March 23rd from 10:00 am until the time of funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor David Jones officiating at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Interment will follow at the Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made in Albert’s name to the Benevolent Care Fund at the Passavant Communities at 105 Burgess Dr., Zelienople, PA 16063.
