Florence Pietrandrea, 94, of Koppel, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Northview Estates.
Florence was born on Sept. 20, 1921 in Branchton, Pa to the late Samuel and Josephine Buano Costa. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1939, and also graduated from the St. Francis School of Nursing in New Castle as a Registered Nurse. For many years, Florence worked at the Ellwood City Hospital as a head nurse. She also was a member of the former Queen of Heaven Church in Koppel.
She is survived by her two sons, Patrick (Joanne) Pietrandrea and Peter (Ruth) Pietrandrea both of Beaver Falls, her grandchildren, Melissa, Patrick, Brian, and Timothy, her sister, Marian “Helen” Costa of California, her sisters-in-law, Isabelle Costa and Sarah Costa of Ellwood City, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Patsy A. Pietrandrea whom she married on Aug. 30, 1947 and passed away on Jan. 14, 1997, her sister Mary Manzo, and her brothers, Thomas, Lawrence, Ralph, Carmine, Patsy, and James.
A memorial mass for Florence will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Zachary Galiyas officiating. Internment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
