Mark S. Shablesky, 66

Mr. Mark S. Shablesky, 66, of Koppel went home to his heavenly Father on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born on May 16, 1955 to the late Francis and Margaret (Andrew) Shablesky in Ellwood City.

He had graduated from Beaver Falls High School with the class of 1973, and was a member of the former Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Koppel. He enjoyed collecting unique antiques.

Mark was a caring and loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved teaching children sports skills and good sportsmanship as a soccer coach. He loved his Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins and proudly wore their colors every day. He was a loyal and dedicated worker in the steel mills, a structural steel draftsman, oxygen maintenance and delivery man, VYN sign installer and all around maintenance man. No skill was ever too hard for him to learn and apply.

His sense of humor either left you baffled or in stiches laughing. He was truly a unique and talented person.

He will be greatly missed by his sons Jonathan Shablesky and his partner Leah Davidson of Ellport, Nicholas Shablesky and his fiance’ Nicole Gobrich of Beaver Falls, sisters, Shirley (Tony) Odosso of Rural Valley, PA, Terri (Ray) Barrett of Las Vegas, NV, numerous nieces and nephews, especially, Rick, Dori, Tami, Ethan, Kyleigh, and Jesse.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents, wife Valerie, and brother Jeffrey Shablesky.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church. Inurnment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mark’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
