Lucy A. Funari, 89

Lucy A. Funari, 89, of Ellwood City passed away at the Clepper Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation in Sharon, PA on Friday, June 25, 2021.

Lucy was born in Ellwood City to the late Ernesto and Teresa (Palmiero) Funarin on December 28, 1931. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. She had taught Kindergarten and First Grade at the former Purification B.V.M. School, the worked at Gen Sales as a clerk, and retired from PNC Bank. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish, Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers and Golden Agers. Lucy also was a longtime volunteer for the churches annual bazaar, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

She is survived by her nieces, Elaine (Martino) Ferruchie of New Castle, and Geraldine Funari of Toledo, Ohio, her nephew, Ernest (Theresa) Funari of Koppel, her great nephews, Jeffrey (Kristi) DePaul, Joseph DePaul, Jack (Jennifer) Moses, Christopher (Michelle) Moses, Michael Funari, and Ernest (Trina) Funari, her great-great-nieces and nephews, Madeline, Jack, Andrea, Rachael, Ava, and Lana Moses, Michael, Mia, and Talia Funari, Melissa (Miguel), Elaina, Zeke, Graysen, and Delaney DePaul.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Malfalda Funari and Yolanda (Joseph) Martino, her brother, Ornorato “Russia” (Catherine) Funari, and her niece, Agatha (Eugene) DePaul.

Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial to be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church, Entombment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Assumption Mausoleum.

Lucy’s family would like to thank the staff of the Clepper Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation for the wonderful care that they extended to her.

Memorial contributions in Lucy’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund.

The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
