Samuel B. “Sam” Crangi, 84

Mr. Samuel B. “Sam” Crangi, 84, of Koppel, devoted and loving father passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 2nd, 2021 at 7:05 am.

Sam was born on November 6, 1936 in Ellwood City to the late Anna (Wittmer) and Philip Crangi. He graduated from Beaver Falls High School with the class of 1954, and was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish. Sam and his deceased wife Patty (Barry) Crangi were the proud owners of Phil’s Inn in Koppel, PA from 1962 to 1999, a landmark at the corner of Rt. 18 and Arthur St.. They also owned the Dairy Queen in Beaver Falls PA, for 15 years. Sam along with his son Sammy, where also the co-owners of Phil’s Bar at the corner of 5th Ave. and Mount St. as well as Zelic’s Sewer and Drain.

Sam was a member of AA since 1979 and was proud to sponsor others who sought sobriety. He was an avid Harley Davidson and H.O.G. enthusiast, and a member of the IMBS Club in Koppel.

Sam is survived by his 6 children, Kim (Scott) Martini of Pulaski, PA, Kathy (Ben) Law of Columbia, PA, Phil (Diane) Crangi of Tampa, FL, Colleen (Skip) Brognano of Darlington, Sammy Crangi and his girlfriend Sonni Leist of Koppel, and Jeff (Marina) Flasco of Glendale, CA, his grandchildren, Kelli Crangi, Jason, Brian, and Chad Brognano, Nathan, Aaron and Adam Law, Haley Phillips, Philip Crangi, Marques Flasco. and his great-grandchildren, Bennett, Zander, and Josiah. He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis (Don) Bacic and Angela (Ken) Tannes both of Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Patty of 40 years.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 am at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father John Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Crangi’s name may be made to the Beaver County or Lawrence County Humane Society.

    Sam was a great man and a great friend of our family.He will be missed by so many people. I remember Sam and Patty taking trips with my Mom and Dad (Sam and Nancy Wood) on the Harleys. Our thoughts and Prayers are with the Family. Nancy and Jackie Wood
