Shari Lynn Best, 35

Shari Lynn Best, 35, of New Brighton, PA was granted her angel wings on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 9:45PM at Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver, PA. Her final days were spent happily at McGuire Memorial Home where she spent 32 years of her life. The family would like to thank McGuire for loving and caring for Shari like their own throughout her life. They truly are a “special place for special people.”

Shari was small but mighty. When she was born on August 6, 1985 the doctors said she may only have one week on this earth, but God had other plans. He knew her life had purpose, and he knew the joy and love she would bring to her family and everyone else who was touched by her during her short life

She was known for her beautiful raven hair, tiny fingers, soft skin, and infectious smile. Through a lifetime of challenges and adversity, she found joy in the simple things. She really enjoyed being raced in her wheelchair through the halls of McGuire Home by her brother and nieces. Balloons and chocolate covered pretzels were two of her favorite things! Shari loved social events at McGuire Home like holiday parties and picnics, any reason to get dressed up and see her family and friends. More than anything, Shari loved visiting with her family. Her eyes would light up every day when her family would come to visit. She gave us all courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Shari embodied all that is pure and good in this world and will be forever remembered.

Shari is survived by her loving parents, Craig and Sue Best of Ellwood City; brother Corey Best (Kelley Best) ; nieces, Sabrina, Braelyn, and Olivia Best; close family friend; Tonia Benden (who was like a second mother); uncles, Steve, Dom, Frank (Judy Blubaugh), Carmen (LeeAnn Bush), Anthony DeGennaro (Janie DeGennaro); aunts, Matilda Krenke (Gary Krenke), Nita Veres (Joe Barnes), Sherry Niepp (Pete Niepp), and Deb Clark (Tom Clark); and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021, from 4-7 pm at The Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am, at The Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mike Greb officiating. Interment will follow at The Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:20 am.

Memorial Contributions in Shari’s name may be made out to the McGuire Memorial Home at 2119 Mercer Rd, New Brighton, PA 15066

Those attending the visitation and Funeral Mass are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
