Carmella “Carmie” Colatruglio Bettoni, 91

Carmella “Carmie” Colatruglio Bettoni, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister, 91, of Ellwood City, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2021 at Carriage Manor.

Born in New Castle, PA on February 13, 1929, Carmella was the daughter of the late Antonio and Dina Martini Colatruglio. She married Arthur P. Bettoni on August 1, 1966 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1993. Carmella formerly worked at Shenango Pottery and she was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish in Ellwood City. When she was able, she enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing volleyball and playing cards with friends.

Carmella is survived by her daughter, Christine Barry of Aurora, CO, her two grandchildren, Hannah Barry of Las Vegas, NV and Justin Barry of Aurora, CO, her sister, Anita Costello of New Castle and her dear friend, Ruth Cortez of Ellwood City.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Carmella was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Fishovitz and Mary Shornack and three brothers, Edward, Albert and Angelo Colatruglio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Attendees are required to wear facial coverings and maintain social distancing. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

Memorial donations may be made in Carmella’s name to The Blind Association.
