James M. “Jim” Braunbeck, 74

James M. “Jim” Braunbeck, 74, of Fombell, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Grove in Harmony.

Born in Williamsport, PA on December 26, 1946, Jim was the son of the late George and Marcella Snopek Braunbeck.  Jim was a 1966 graduate of Riverside High School.  He married the former Peggy McDonald on October 14, 1967 and six months later, he enlisted in the US Army and served during the Vietnam War.  Jim retired from Billco in Zelienople where he worked as a machinist.  A former member of the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department, Jim served as Fire Chief.  He also served as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Franklin Township and was a former 4-H leader.  He and his wife, Peggy owned and operated Braunbeck’s Tall Pine Stables.  Jim also enjoyed hunting.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his daughter, Crystal Braunbeck of New York City, a sister, Barbara Stevens of Colorado Springs, CO and a brother, Wesley (Pam) Braunbeck of Rochester, PA.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Daniel Braunbeck.

Due to current restrictions, there were no services.  Interment will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.

    I just learned of Jim’s death. I have not seen him for many years but remember driving around in his black 57 Chevy and hunting, etc. So sorry for your loss.
