Mrs. Anne “Anna” M. (Thomas) Conti, 100, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople.
Mrs. Conti was born on January 18, 1920 in Ellwood City to the late Rocco DeTommaso and Mary C. (Montango DeTommaso) DeFilippo. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1938. She had worked for Leeds & Northrup for 10 years retiring in 1982. Anna was also a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers, Corona D’Italia, and the Golden Agers. She enjoyed dancing, baking, walking, and being with her family and friends. Her family and friends will remember her laughter and how much everyone enjoyed being in her presence. Anna was a lot of fun to around.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Sheline of East Grand Rapids, MI, her sons, Anthony (Joy) Conti of Pine Twp., Mark (Linda) Conti of Patterson Twp., her grandchildren, Erik Sheline, Douglas Sheline, Scott Sheline, Andrew Conti, Michael Conti, Gregory Conti, Kevin Conti, and April Conti Dean, and her eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Casper (Amy) DeFilippo of Ellwood City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Andrew L. Conti whom she married on November 16, 1940 and passed away on December 2, 1991, her step-father, John DeFilippo, her sister, Viola Arkwright, her brother, John DeFilippo in infancy, her daughter-in-law, Diane (Lodovico) Conti, and her son-in-law, James Sheline.
Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions a private viewing will be held for the family at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. A mass of Christian burial for Anne will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter’s Mausoleum. Those attending the mass are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Conti’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Angel Fund, or to the Passavant Retirement Community.
