Joseph H. Youngblood, 90, of Ellport, passed away in the ER of UPMC Jameson Hospital on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.
Born in Jackson Township, Butler County on September 11, 1929, Joe was the son of the late Peter Leo and Ida Elizabeth Miller Youngblood. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nancy Rutter, who passed away on October 20, 1993. They were married on November 21, 1952. Joe liked to inform his friends that with over 50 years of service he was the oldest Lawrence Co. Constable. Joe was the owner and operator of Youngblood Paving, a company he started in 1983. Prior to that he had worked at Elcast and Mathews Conveyor. He was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Joe was a member of the Ellwood City After Prom Committee for over 50 years and a member of the former Beaver Falls Masonic Lodge. In his younger days, Joe enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving are his children, Debbie (Jim) Morton of Ellwood City and Larry (Candy) Youngblood of Wampum, 4 grandchildren, Jaime (Torrey) Jones, Cory Morton, Curtis (Shanna) Youngblood and Todd (Tarrah) Youngblood, 7 great grandchildren, his sister, Betty Holcomb of Baden and his companion, Rose Crespo of Ellwood City.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Amelia “Shirley” Youngblood.
Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
A Masonic Service will be held on Saturday morning, at the funeral home at 10:00 AM, followed by visitation until the time of the Blessing Service with Fr. Mark Thomas at 11:00 AM.
Interment will take place in Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.
