Frank J. Geniviva, 77

Mr. Frank J. Geniviva, 77, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019, at his residence.

Mr. Geniviva was born on December 15, 1942 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph F. and Jean M. (Voto) Geniviva. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1960 and later from Baldwin Wallace University with a degree in biology. Mr. Geniviva had taught science, biology, and chemistry at both Lincoln High School and the Beaver Area High School. He also coached Ellwood City Junior High School Football, Track, and Cross Country. He was very proud of the numerous state championships that his Cross Country teams had won. In 1980, Frank ran for State Senator. In his younger years, he had worked as a rafting guide in Colorado. An outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was a member of the Three Rivers Musky Club and the NRA.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Richardson) Geniviva whom he married on June 15, 1983, his daughters, Patty Jean Geniviva of Rochester Twp. and Channa (Jonathon) Robinson of Ellwood City, his step-daughters, Michelle (Steven) Marino of Virginia and Kelly (Gary) Leonard of New York, his thirteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joseph Frank Geniviva, his grandson, Zachary Leonard, and his sister, Mary Louise Geniviva.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Pastor Dennis Arndt officiating. Interment will follow at the Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.

  1. Frank was a very warm, caring person. I was so glad that we had kept in touch all these years. He was always funny and commenting on my face book page. He will be missed by many, many people.
