John J. LaRitz, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls.
Born in Ellwood City on March 8, 1934, John was the son of the late Samuel and Antonette Malizia LaRitz. He married the former Hazel Black on October 26, 1957 and they enjoyed 59 years together until she preceded him in death on December 1, 2016. John retired from B&W where he worked as a millwright. A member of First Church of God in Ellwood City, John was a Veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed restoring cars and motorcycles and also repaired clocks.
John was a family man, and he will be dearly missed by his daughters, Debra (Jim) Greco of New Beaver, Denise (Matt) Bintrim of North Sewickley Twp., his 3 grandchildren, Justin Yanssens, Rick Yanssens and Jordan Bintrim, his 4 great-grandchildren; Seth, Rocco, Dusty and Shane, and his two sisters; Judy (Harold) Davis of Rochester, PA and Charlene (Bill) Shaffer of Frisco.
In addition to his parents and his wife, John was preceded in death by his two brothers, James “Jim” LaRitz and Eugene “Gene” LaRitz.
A memorial service will be held for John at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made in his name to the First Church of God, 1862 Mercer Road, Ellwood City, PA 16117.
