Patricia A. Santillo (Toth)

Since the passing of Patricia A. Santillo (Toth) on May 26th, 2019, the world feels the loss of her sweetness. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Patty was born on January 13th, 1937 to the late John and Helen (Remack) Toth . She was preceded in death by her husband of 24 years, Emmett, and their beloved daughter Elizabeth, better known as “Lizzy.” She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jerry and Elmer Toth, and sisters, Dorothy and Rose Mesko, Helen Scott, and Edna Munzinger.

She is survived by her sister, Sylvia Santillo, who was married to Emmett’s brother, Anthony. She is also survived by her daughter and caregiver Ursula (Frank) Rachuba, and sons, August (Kim) Santillo and Emmett (Karen) Santillo. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive her, as well as twin great grandchildren expected in July and nieces and nephews who know her as their “sweet Aunt Patty.”

Patty had a love and particular talent for baking and cooking. She enjoyed serving elaborate dinners for her family and friends with a spread of dishes to enjoy. She was especially known for her Good Friday pizza. For her annual Christmas celebration, she would even prepare a cookie table fit for a wedding in her own home.

Although home-bound, she showed her love by calling family members on their birthdays to sing them a special greeting over the telephone. She was also a prayer warrior and took the time to pray each day for those she loved.

Patty, a life-long Ellwoodian, loved taking care of her home with its “knick knacks” and her little cat, Pita. She was especially devoted to the care of her special needs daughter, Lizzy, for almost fifty years, who she is now joyfully reunited with.
The family would like to thank Three Rivers Hospice, with a special thanks to Jana Morgan, Amber Tomon, Tammy Singer, Bobbi Clark and Neal Samuels. They would also like to thank the PM crew and management at Ellwood McDonald’s for the late night lattes and Samuel Teolis Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. on Wednesday, May 29th from 9 am until the time of the Blessing Service at Noon. Interment will be at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Santillo’s name may be made to the McGuire Memorial Foundation.
