Joann Lucille Snyder, 79

Joann Lucille Snyder, 79, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab Home in New Castle.

Born in Ellwood City on June 16, 1939 Joann was the daughter of the late Frank and Rose Robb Catale.  She was a 1957 graduate of Lincoln High School.  Joann married Robert P. Snyder, Sr. on July 18, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2015, exactly four years to the day.  She worked at Leeds & Northrup, Evelyn’s Corral and she sold Avon, Mary Kay cosmetics and was a longtime Home Interiors sales consultant.  Joann was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and its Christian Mothers.  She was very active in the community as a member of Municipal Women’s Club and she enjoyed golf and bowling.  Joann was blessed by both her family and many friends who all enjoyed her great sense of humor.

Joann is survived by two sons, Robert P. (Stacey Brown) Snyder, Jr. and Brad Snyder, both of Ellwood City, 7 grandchildren who she loved very much; Amber, Brock, Troy, Josh, Courtney, Dylan & Jake Snyder and two great-grandchildren; Jayden Norman and Rowan Cheeks.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Joann was preceded in death by her step-father, Robert Muoio, a son, David Rockwell Snyder in 2011, 2 brothers; Pete and John Catale, a sister, Gloria Catale-Jones and 2 nephews; Pete & Frank Catale.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 4, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, January 5^th from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.  A Blessing Service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 PM with Fr. Mark Thomas of Holy Redeemer Church.  Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
