Yellow Ribbon Girls Offering ‘Christmas Cards To The Troops’

The Yellow Ribbon Girls would like to ask everyone in our area to consider signing Christmas cards to be shipped around the world to the deployed troops.  Cards can be signed by families, businesses, churches, schools, clubs, groups and teams. The more names on each card the better.  It is a great way to show the troops far from home how many people back here are thinking about them.

The envelopes can be decorated and a message added to them as the cards will be shipped inside the BIG Christmas care packages.  If you would like, add a mailing address or email address to the inside of the cards. You may hear directly back from the soldiers.  (please do not use your main email address.)

Our goal is 15,000 signed Christmas cards.  (we have already shipped blank Christmas cards for the troops to use.)  Over 150 care packages will ship to troops in at least 13 countries so your cards will be shared far and wide.

All cards need turned in by November 9th to be included in the Christmas care packages and to insure delivery overseas before Christmas Day.  Any late cards will be shipped in December to units that have the fastest mail delivery.

Anyone interested in donating supplies, gifts or treats for the deployed troops this Christmas are also ask to have the items dropped off by November 9th.  The top requests at this time are: white socks, beef jerky, small bags of nuts/trail mix, batteries (any size) and instant coffee.

In Ellwood City, cards and supplies can be dropped off at The Color Center, 536 Lawrence Avenue or at the basement door of the Ellport Community Church, 1141 Church Street.
