Ellwood City Christmas Parade Winners Announced

The Ellwood City Christmas Parade winners for various floats were announced Wednesday. The winners are the following:

Traditional Floats

• First Place — Leaps & Bounds Gymnastics Company, “Candy Cane Lane” and Girl Scout Troop 11390, “The Island of Misfit Toys”
• Second Place — Studio P Dance Studio, “A Beachy Christmas”
• Third Place — Diamond Dance Academy, “A Grinchy Christmas”

Religious Floats

• First Place — First Church of God, “Nativity Scene”
• Seconds Place — Calvin Presbyterian Church, “Nativity Scene”

Marching Groups

• First Place — Wurtemburg United Methodist Church
• Second Place — Girl Scout Troop 16160
• Third Place — Boy Scout & Cub Scout Troop 806
• Judges were Betty Phillippi and Sue Malcolm from the Ellwood City Art Club.

The holiday parade committee extends its thanks to those who donated: Wurtemburg-Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, Susan and James Westlund, R.W. Powell, Michael and Janice Loccisano, Arlene Cogliano, Nido’s Beauty Salon, Beth Hazen, Mary Grace D’Addio, Mary Joyce Ierace, Ellwood City Wolves Club, INMETCO, McElwain Motors, Huntington Bank, Dr. Richard Barnes, Ellwood City Elementary PTO Board Members and Kathy Thalmann Blank.

Anyone interested in making a donation for next year’s parades can mail a check, payable to Ellwood City Parades, to 300 Pershing Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117. All funds will be used to award prizes and enhance the lineup.
