Mrs. Alice J. Piper, 87, formerly of Franklin Twp. passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s at Asbury Ridge in Erie, Pa.
Mrs. Piper was born on August 22, 1929 in Ellwood City to the late George and Jeanette Creese. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. Alice had worked at the Knox United Presbyterian Church and later at the Calvin Presbyterian Church as a secretary. She was a member of the Franklin Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Beaver County Fire Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and crocheting.
Mrs. Piper is survived by her daughter, Jean (Tom) Bolan of Erie, her son, Francis C. (Karen) Piper, Jr. of Virginia. her grandchildren, Nadine (Mark) Hummel and Kate (Nick) Morales, her great grandchildren, Maxwell, and Jack Hummel, Mira, Seth, and Etta Morales, and her brother, George Creese of Fombell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Francis C. Piper, Sr. whom she married on August 9, 1947 and passed away on February 17, 2016, her son Thomas Bruce Piper, and her brother William Creese.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services with Rev. Sean Brubaker officiating. Entombment will be at the Sylvanian Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum.
