Theresa V. Bennett, 65

Mrs. Theresa V. Bennett, 65, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2017 in the Creek Meadows Personnel Care Home.

Mrs. Bennett was born on October 31, 1931 in Ellwood City to the late Salvatore “Sam” and Elizabeth Perry Galati.She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1949, and also graduated from the Garfield Business School. Theresa had briefly worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill. She is a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and the Christian Mothers of the Holy Redeemer Parish. She was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates fan. She mostly cherished time spent with her family and grandchildren.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Anthony) Sessa of Springhill, FL, and Carol (Patrick) Marsh of Carnegie, her sons, Robert Bennett of Ellwood City, and Michael (Judy) Bennett of Chewton, her grandchildren, Samantha and Stephanie Sessa, Richelle Kosto, Anthony, Joey, and Chelsea Bennett, Aidan, and Patrick Marsh, and her 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis (Rudy) Vetica of Franklin Twp. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Silvio C. “Sil” Bennett, Jr. whom she married on August 20, 1955 and passed away on July 13, 2001.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at Noon in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Zachary Galiyas officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Saturday by 11:50 am to form an honor guard. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Saturday by 11:20 am. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Bennett’s name may be made to the Holy Redeemer Social Services, or to the Gateway Hospice.
