Andrew G. Tomei Sr., 86

Mr. Andrew G. Tomei Sr., 86, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Andrew was born on November 23rd, 1938 in New Brighton to the late Adolph “Red” and Barbara (Skupnik) Tomei. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, where he was an usher for many years. Andrew was the Ellwood City dog catcher for 18 years, worked for the Ellwood City Borough Street Department for 27 years, and allied auto for 12 years. He enjoyed “old-time” fishing and hunting, mainly archery.

He is survived by his wife, Angeline (DeBlasio) Tomei whom he married on January 30th, 1960, daughters, Kim Lytle; of Ellwood City, and Tracey (Ken) Kriess of Perry Township, son, Andrew (Robin) Tomei Jr., brothers, Mark (Lisa) Tomei of Alabama, and Brad Tomei of California, sister-in-law, Barbara Tomei, grandchildren, Brandi (William) Lippman, Mark Kriess, Ashley (Joey) Benetti, William Grannis, and Tish Grannis, great-grandchildren, Brittany Grannis, R0salie Lippman, Koleson Snyder and Mazie Benetti.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Scott and Richard Tomei.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 from5-7 p.m. at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 26th, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Joe Freedy officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Holy Redeemer Mausoleum. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the church by 10:50 am to conduct full military honors.
