Bruno Joseph Sciote, 92

Mr. Bruno Joseph Sciote, 92, of Chippewa Township, formerly North Sewickley Township, passed away on Monday, October 13th, 2025 at his residence.

Mr. Sciote was born in Ellwood City on March 21st, 1933 to the late Vincenzo James and Erma (Ferrigno) Sciote. At the age of 17, Bruno enlisted with the United States Navy on September 17th, 1951 and served until his honorable discharge on August 12th, 1955 with the rank of Navy Boatswain’s Mate, 3rd class. He served on the USS Denebola and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Following his service with the Navy, Bruno worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver Falls as a machinist 1st class, U.S. Steel Tube Mill in Ellwood City for 6 years, Keiser Steel In California, PA Turnpike as a toll collector, and retired from Veka Industries in Zelienople as a tool and die machinist in 1996. Bruno also worked as a North Sewickley Township police officer and fireman. He is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, the American Legion, VFW, and the Sons of Italy in Ellwood City. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, polka dancing, playing cards, watching sports, golf, wine making, and volunteered as a little league baseball coach. He loved spending time with his family especially with his grandchildren.

He had served as an altar boy at the former Purification BVM Church, and was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Rosanna (Sudano) Sciote whom he married on April 19th, 1958, daughter, Terri (Brian) Green of Charlotte, NC, sons, James Sciote of Philadelphia, and Robert (Julie) Sciote of Franklin Park, grandchildren, Christie Green and her husband James Barney, Roman Sciote, and Anthony Sciote, and his sister, Rose Marie Verone of Ellwood City.

Bruno was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Angie and her husband Joe Tammaro, brother-in-law, John Verone, his beloved dog, Keeser, and grand-dog, Crosby.

Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm until the time of the Blessing Service at 7:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Family and friends are also invited to attend the interment on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA, there will not be a formal procession to the cemetery, those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 am: 1158 Morgan Rd., Bridgeville, Pa 15017.
