The Historical Society had its monthly board meeting, July 7th. The Ways and Means committee gave its report on the donations received from the Annual Fund Drive. The Annual Fund Drive-started on June 15th and will end on August 15, 2025. Andy kindle, Fund Drive Chairman, stated the goal this year is raise $ 12,000.00, which is a third of e what our annual budget of $ 36,000.
Angela Hyde, society treasurer, gave an update on donations received up to Monday. The total amount received is $ 4,210.00. The committee than discuss how it could raise another $ 8,000.00 before the Annual Fund Drive deadline of August 15.. The group brought up that maybe another letter campaign might bring a greater awareness to the community. Other ideas was to reach out via our email addresses, knock-on-doors, or maybe an increase in dues. No other ideas was considered at this time and will review at August board meeting.
The board discussed the results of participation at the Arts, Craft, and Food Festival. Other-future events coming up, Wandering Wednesdays, Auto Street Festival, etc.. the first meeting of the fall is on September 8, our annual dinner meeting. It is held at the Connoquenessing Country Club, and the guest speaker will be Country singer, Tony Barge. Reservations are due by August 25, 2025… Following monthly meetings will be : October 13, at the Orthodox Monastery ; November 10, Founders day meeting will feature Dr. Brad Brown, Magician.
“We have to urge our community friends and membership to generously donate and support the work of the Historical Society,” said Bob Morabito, president of the Society. “Donations are vital to the growth and long term sustainability into the future.”
