Joanne T. Lasso, 93

Mrs. Joanne T. Lasso, 93, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

Mrs. Lasso was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Bjanitch) Ciotto born on June 20th, 1931 in New Castle. She had graduated from New Castle High School. Over the years, Joanne worked at Rockwell in New Castle, Harmony Castings both as a secretary and later retired from SAE International where she worked as a meeting planner. She is a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers and the Ladies of Charity.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and David Hopkins of Ellwood City, her grandsons, Brody Hopkins of Ellwood City and Brock (Jenna) Hopkins of Wampum, and her special niece, Rosemary Ciotto.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank Lasso whom she married on January 29th, 1955 and passed away on October 3rd, 1996, and her brother Fred Ciotto.

Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5-8 pm and again on Saturday from Noon until the time of the Blessing Service at 1:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Father James Wehner officiating. Interment will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Lasso’s family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Oaks and Northview Estates for the wonderful care they all gave to Joanne.
