Madeline (Molly) Lendick, 104

Mrs. Madeline (Molly) Lendick, 104, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2025. Born on April 25, 1921, in Rochester, NY, she was the beloved daughter of Pietro and Carmen (DeJonghe) Magliocca.

The oldest daughter of eleven siblings, Molly grew up in a loving, close-knit Italian-French family. She is survived by her brothers George and Pete, and her sister Joanne, all of whom were proud to call her their big sister.

Molly was a woman of warmth, strength, and enduring kindness. A devoted wife to her late husband, Stanley Lendick, and a loving mother to her five children. She worked at Leeds and Northrop and later as a receptionist at the Family Center Gym where her cheerful presence and gentle spirit brightened many lives. She was a homemaker who found joy in caring for others, especially through her love of cooking. She continued to cook for family even after she turned 100 years old!

She is survived by her children: Ken Lendick of Ellwood City and long time partner Susan Alvin; Mary Gurney of Meadville, PA; Cindy (Dale) Latimer of Grass Valley, CA; and Janice (Jon) Finkin of Hollywood, FL. She is also remembered with deep love by her thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Molly was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, her daughter Barbara Yacobozzi, her son-in-law Stan Gurney, her grandson Adam Gurney, and her granddaughter Brooke Yacobozzi.

Cherished memories in her later years were traveling to France to meet her mother’s family, many trips to visit family in Florida and California, along with her 100th birthday celebration which the Mayor of Ellwood City proclaimed as “Madeline Lendick Day”.

Her legacy is one of kindness and resilience of a long life well lived. She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. in Ellwood City on Thursday, May 29th from 5-7pm and on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the Blessing Service at 11:00 am with Father Jim Wehner officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter’s Mausoleum.

Because of her great love of children and underserved families, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to: Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Social Services.
