Folino stage will glitter of patriotic sparkle & spunk as 10 local ladies compete for the highly anticipated- 8th annual Little Miss Firecracker pageant.
The show will begin at 11:15 am after the raising of the flag, on Friday, July 4th kicking off the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food & Entertainment Festival weekend.
The event will be lead by returning emcee Rochelle Spagnolo (local owner of Konsignment Konnections store) and last years Little Miss Firecracker title holder, Bristol Borselli (2024 winner). Jenn Greco, pageant chairperson, adds, “We have a great group of girls this year and even though we have a smaller number of participants , each girl will get more stage time! I’m excited to watch their personalities unfold and charm the audience!”
The three 3 judges this year are: Ashley Smith (local hairstylist & owner of Rainbow Room), Officer Mike McBride (local veteran and police officer) and Cara Atkinson (local founder of Club Hope Foundation Inc). The participants will be judged on stage by their stage presence, patriotic outfit and brief interview. The interview is based on each girls hobbies/special talents and application answers. Ages range from 5-8 years old and have to reside in Ellwood City or Riverside School Districts.
All participants will recieve trophies, sashes and prizes. There will be a winner for patriotic spirit award (highest score in outfit division), 1st runner up award (2nd highest overall score) and one overall winner (highest overall score) will be crowned Little Miss Firecracker 2025 and will recieve a winner sash and crown. “We have a beautiful crown that is donated by Blocher Jewelers,” Greco said.
The winner will be featured in local newspaper articles and get to ride in all of Ellwood’s annual parades for the year. Last years winner, Bristol Borselli, will lead us in the Pledge of Alliance at the beginning of pageant and will get to crown this years winner on stage at the end.
