Louis John Ippolito, 75

Louis John Ippolito, 75, formerly of Ellport, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at the Grove at New Wilmington.

Born in Ellwood City, Louis was the son of the late Louis John and Catherine Pishioneri Ippolito.  Louis retired from the Youngstown City School District where he worked as a custodian.  He was a former member of St. Vincent DePaul Parish in New Castle, where he sang in the choir and was a lector.  Louis was a veteran of the Navy serving during the Vietnam War.  He graduated Lincoln High School in 1967 attended the University of Pittsburgh.  He received his BS in Computer Science from Geneva College in 1980.  Louis enjoyed bowling in several leagues and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.  He also enjoyed music, reading, puzzles, and spending time with his family.

Louis is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Walter “Tarkey” and Kierstyn Ippolito of Pittsburgh, his sister, Catherine Louise and R. Hugh Anderson of Warren, OH, his brother-in-law, Tom Hazen of Ellwood City, his former wife, Joyce Ross of New Castle and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Ann Hazen.

Friends may call at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 10:00 am to the time of the Mass at 11:00 am.

Inurnment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.

    So sorry to hear this. Louie and I were trombone players in the Lincoln band.
