On January 30th, 2025, members of the Lawrence County District Attorney’s HIDTA Drug Task Force, the Ellwood City Police Department, and the Lawrence County Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) executed a search warrant at 306 Wood Street, Ellwood City.
Operation “The Issue is Smoot” began at approximately 6:10 a.m. when CIRT knocked and announced their presence.
Once no contact was made at the front door, entry was made. CIRT secured the residence, locating and detaining one female. The target of the investigation, 26-year-old Aubrey Quillan Smoot, was not present at the residence.
As a result of the search, the following evidence was located and seized:
- Two digital weigh scales containing suspected drug residue
- Ruger .380 caliber magazine
- Six bundles of stamp bags containing suspected heroin/fentanyl/xylazine
- One bundle of unpackaged / unused stamp bags
- Four stamp bags containing suspected heroin/fentanyl
- $910.00 US currency
The evidence was transported to the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Joint Operations Center in New Castle. The stamp bags were unbundled and counted. A total of 61 stamp bags containing suspected heroin/fentanyl/xylazine were seized, with a total weight of approximately 10 gross grams (58 white stamp bags stamped / labeled “GHETTO GIRLS”, 3 blue stamp bags stamped / labeled with a red circle).
As a result of this investigation and the evidence seized during the search warrant, Smoot was charged with the following and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest: Pennsylvania Title 35: 13(a)(30) – Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance and Pennsylvania Title 35: 13(a)(32) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
