Mr. Theodore Ciccozzi, 94, of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Ciccozzi was born on August 12th,1930 in Monaca, PA to the late Pasquale and Maria (Luciani) Ciccozzi. He had graduated from Monaca High School with the class of 1950. Following high school, Ted worked briefly for Koppers in Shippingport and then enlisted with the United States Navy on June 1st, 1951. He served with the Navy during the Korean War on the USS Coral Sea until his honorable discharge on May 20th, 1955, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. After his service with the Navy, Ted went back to work at Koppers later known as Sinclair Koppers and then Arco Polymers as a liquid handler until his retirement in 1992. He is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church, and was one of the founding members of the Purification BVM Church Annual Bazaar where he was, along with his wife Grace, deeply involved with set up and management of the event. He is a former member of the Special Activities Group and the Sons of Italy. Ted is the last member of the “Tuesday Night Peanut Gang” which gathered at Jim’s Café and then the Keystone Bar when Jim’s closed. Ted enjoyed being active with various projects around the house and did not like to sit still.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and David Ioanilli of Wayne Twp., sons, Leonard Ciccozzi of Ellwood City, Theodore (Anna) Ciccozzi, Jr. of Ellwood City, and Patsy (Jennifer) Ciccozzi of Tallmadge, Ohio, grandchildren Christa (Christopher) Fotia-Tucker, Teddy Ciccozzi, and Alyssa Ciccozzi, great-grandson, Anthony Tucker, and step-grandchildren, Joey, Nick and Maria Ioanilli, and Carly Wagner.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Grace (Ottavio) Ciccozzi whom he married on December 27th, 1952 and passed away on July 21st, 2023, grandson, Timothy Ciccozzi, a sister and brother in infancy, Anna and Albert, sisters, Esther Huff and Edith Commella, and his brothers, Leonard and Victor Ciccozzi.
A private family visitation will be held on Saturday at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Family and friends are invited to a mass of Christian burial on Saturday at Noon at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church with Father Jim Wehner officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Resurrection Mausoleum.
