Eugene and Jean Morabito were married 66 years. Eugene passed away on December 27, 2024 and Jean passed on June 27, 2024. They moved from Cranberry/Mars to Las Vegas a year and a half ago, where they were cared for by their daughter. They are survived by 3 children, Eugene, Carol and Marianne along with 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Eugene was born in Ellwood City to the late Cosimo and Carmella Simurro Morabito. He married the former Jean Scala of Wampum on May 17, 1958. He attended Lincoln High School and Geneva College. He completed a course at the National Installment Banking School at the University of Colorado and completed the Credit Management Program at the Graduate School of Business at Columbia University and completed a Consumer Finance Course at Penn State University.
He was employed by Beneficial Management Corporation of New Jersey for 35 years holding various management and executive positions.
Eugene served in the Navy during the Korean War. He served two 3 year terms on the Board of Directors of the Connoquenessing Country Club and 2 terms as President. Eugene also served multiple leadership positions for the Sons of Italy Grand of Pennsylvania. He enjoyed golf, cars, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin music.
Besides his parents and wife, Eugene was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 5 sisters, Joseph, Norman, Robert, Alfred, Jennie, Rosa, Emma, Dorothy and Mary Sue.
Jean was born on June 14, 1930 in Wampum to the late Nicola and Amanda Fontana Scala. Jean graduated the top of her class at Wampum High School and then attended Mason Felix School of Cosmetology in New Castle. She then operated her own business in the downstairs of her family home for 11 years before she met and married Eugene. She was a member of the Sodality of St. Monica’s Church and later the Christian Mothers of St. Agatha Church.
Jean’s prime role was wife and mother. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of several women’s bowling leagues in Wampum.
Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by 2 brother, Joseph and Ronald.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eugene and Jean will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church on Friday, January 24th at 10:00 AM.
Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
