Mrs. Catherine (Burcik) Pander, 95

Mrs. Catherine (Burcik) Pander, 95, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, December 26th, 2024 at Northview Estates.

Mrs. Pander was born in Ellwood City on March 4th, 1929 to the late Joseph and Mary (Ignatovich) Burcik, Sr.. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947 and was very active with her class reunion committee and staying in touch with her classmates. Catherine had worked at the Ellwood City Knitting Mill and for many years at the Riverside School District in the cafeteria and custodial departments. She also sold Stanley Home Products from her residence. Catherine loved western style square dancing and was passionate about polka dancing. Her dancing allowed her to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Italy with her family and friends along with cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and New England States. She enjoyed time spent at her hunting camp in Sinnemahoning, PA, working in her beautiful vegetable garden, canning vegetables, and making her renowned stuffed cabbage rolls and apple pies. She had attended the Wiley Hill Baptist Church and Challenges Senior Center in Ellwood City, and served on the North Sewickley Township Board of Elections. In her earlier years she belonged to several bowling leagues and will be remembered as a great cook.

She is survived by her daughter Karen Farzo of East Liverpool, Ohio, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Laurie Pander of Franklin Township, her beloved grandchildren Corrie Brenner, Shawn (Lisa) Pander, Ryan (Annie) Pander, and Brandon (Jessica) Bingle, and great-grandchildren Gary Michael Klobchar, Alex Klobchar, Noah Brenner, Claire Pander, Payton M. Pander, Berkley Bingle, and Bryson Bingle.

Mrs. Pander was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Milton “Pete” Pander whom she married on October 23rd, 1948 and passed away on March 13th, 1994, grandson Jason Matt Brenner, sisters Catherine Burcik (in infancy), Helen Konyak, and Mary Slavic, and brothers Steve ( in infancy), Michael Burcik, Steve Burcik, and Joseph Burcik, Jr..

Family and friends will be received on Friday, December 27th, 2024 from 5:00 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. with Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Interment will be at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Pander’s family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Sniezek and staff, the staff and nurses of Visiting Nurses Association of Butler County, the staff of Northview Estates, and RX Institutional Services from Boardman, Ohio for the wonderful care that they all extended to her.
