James R. Stoyanoff, 73

James R. Stoyanoff, 73, of Ellwood City, passed away following a lengthy illness at UPMC Passavant McCandless on Wednesday, December 25, 2024.

Born in Ellwood City on January 28, 1951, James was the son of Octavia Conforti Stoyanoff and the late James Stoyanoff.  He was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church.  James was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Vo-Tech where he studied Studio Recording and Photographic Imaging.  After high school, James worked at US Steel in Ellwood City and later at B & W in Koppel.  He enjoyed playing the piano and recording his songs.  James was a Pittsburgh Pirate fan, a Beatles fan and enjoyed 60’s & 70’s muscle cars.  James always enjoyed supporting his family, especially his nieces and nephew at their sporting events.

Besides his mother, Octavia, James is survived by a daughter, Tricia and Gary Keck, a sister, Eileen McKelvey and 2 brothers, Jeffrey and Clydene Stoyanoff and William Stoyanoff, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and his cat, Christian.

James was preceded in death by his father, a sister, Laura Stoyanoff and 2 brothers, David and Ralph Stoyanoff.

Friends may call at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 4:30 P.M. to the time of the Blessing Service at 6:30 P.M.

Inurnment will take place in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.

A special appreciation to the dedicated and hard working nurses and doctors at UPMC Passavant Cranberry and McCandless Hospitals for their devoted time and effort.  They will not be forgotten.
