Samuel W. Burton, 91, of Wayne Township, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 25, 2024.
Born in Louisa, Kentucky on March 30, 1933, Samuel was the son of the late George G. and Elva Chaffin Burton. He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Fogg whom he married on February 15, 1953. Samuel retired as a foreman at B&W. He later drove buses for Zona Tours. Samuel was a veteran of the Army, serving from 1953 to 1955. Samuel enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and flying model planes. In his earlier days he had a Great Lakes Captains License and captained a fishing boat on the Great Lakes. He was also a scuba diver and a member of the rescue team.
Besides his wife, Thelma Burton, Samuel is survived by two daughters, Linda and Greg Kissick and Brenda and Terry Graziani both of Ellwood City, three grandchildren, Kyleigh and Andy Angleton, Charles and Kat Kissick and Chrissy Noysser, three great-grandchildren, Kadin, Chloe and Hunter and 3 brothers, Raymond and Roseann Burton of Orlando, FL, Jim Burton of Coco, FL and Charles Burton of Ellwood City.
Samuel was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Granger and 2 brothers, John and Robert Burton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to The Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory.
