Riverside School District Receives Public School Facility Improvement Grant

Riverside Beaver County School District received $350,000 for a roof repair, HVAC, and plumbing system project at the Riverside Beaver County Elementary/Middle School facility as part of PA Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program (PSFIG).

The program provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects.

The grant is part of 21 state grant issued improvement projects valued at $11 million that will take place in Beaver, Butler, and Lawrence counties.  Four additional Beaver County school district projects are being funded through the grant projgram.

“Investments in our roads, schools, sewers, and wastewater treatment centers is crucial when it comes to maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities,” said Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) this week in a statement. “I am pleased to see so many of these critical projects receiving this much needed funding to accomplish this goal.”

The following Beaver County school district projects are being funded through the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program:

  • Aliquippa School District received $1 million for a roof repair project at Aliquippa Junior/Senior High School located in Aliquippa City.
  • Hopewell Area School District received $1.15 million for a roof replacement project at the Hopewell Area Senior High School located in Hopewell Township.
  • Riverside Beaver County School District received $350,000 for a roof repair, HVAC, and plumbing system project at the Riverside Beaver County Elementary/Middle School facility located in North Sewickley Township.
  • Rochester Area School District received $713,777 for HVAC and roof replacement projects at the K-12 facility located in Rochester Township.
  • South Side Area School District received $500,000 for roof replacement; HVAC, boilers, and plumbing upgrades; accessibility improvements; energy savings; and health/safety upgrades at South Side Area Middle/High School located in Greene Township.

The funding was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development that administers many of Pennsylvania’s economic development and community improvement programs.
