POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

DRIVING WITHOUT LICENSE:
Trent Sirak, 21, of Ellwood City is charged with Driving without a license after an incident on May 21st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers were patrolling and had noticed a green quad traveling at high speeds. Police followed with sirens and lights, but the operator fled. Police then spoke to Abigail Naher who related that Sirak had been operating a green quad recently.

POSSESSION/USE:
Jamie Pezzuti, 46, of New Castle is charged with Driving Without a License after an incident on May 29th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:30 a.m., police were dispatched to Sheetz for suspicious activity involving two women spending over half an hour in the bathroom. Police contacted both girls in the bathroom and found them both using drugs. The narcotics were seized and their vehicle was towed. Both women were released according to a criminal complaint.

RESISTING ARREST:
Trent Sirak, 21, of Ellwood City and Larissa Wimer, 18, of Ellwood City are charged with multiple charges after an incident on June 6th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 1:09 a.m., police were alerted to a vehicle housing a passenger matching the description of Sirak. Police followed the vehicle until it eventually came to a stop, at which point Sirak ran. The driver, Wimer was apprehended by police and refused to give them information on Sirak. The charges for Sirak are as follows: Flight to avoid. The charges for Wimer are as follows: Obstruction, Hindering Apprehension/ Provides for Aids, Hindering Apprehension/ False Information, and Resisting Arrest related from a criminal complaint.

ANIMAL NEGLECT:
Clinton Demoss, 42, and Carolyn McMahon, 46, both of Ellwood City are each charged with the neglect of animals after an incident on April 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 8:51 a.m., police served a search warrant to Todd Ave finding that seven dogs, caged up and emaciated to the point of being able to see their ribs, were locked in the basement with no way of reaching their food and no water. The criminal complaint also states that the house was covered with feces and urine from other animals roaming the home, including the children’s bedroom. In total, there were nine animals transported to the Humane Society for Veterinary Examinations an treatments. According to the criminal complaint, the outcome of the vets visit included: Localized Infections, Delayed Healing, Formation of Scar Tissue, Chronic Pain and Discomfort, Systematic Infections, Unsanitary Conditions, External Parasites, and being Underweight.

RESISTING ARREST:

POSSESSION/USE:
Megan Pflugh, 35, of Wampum, is charged with the use and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on May 6th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 1:15 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driving the wrong way down a one-way section of Glen Avenue. When police contacted the driver, she identified herself to be Gina Igersheim, and the passenger was identified as Megan Pflugh. The vehicle was searched, related from a criminal complaint, and police found paraphernalia and narcotics in Pflugh’s purse.

POSSESSION/USE:
Megan Pflugh, 35, of Wampum is charged with use and possession of drug paraphernalia after an incident on April 21st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:04 a.m., police were dispatched to the Sheetz parking lot for a female passed out in her vehicle. Police knocked on the window to wake the driver, Pflugh, who told police she had been working late and had fallen asleep. Police seized the paraphernalia and narcotics that were in plain view to them, according to a criminal complaint.

DUI:
Marcus Samuels, 20, of Jefferson, PA, is charged with DUI and reckless driving after an accident on May 4th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 10:14p.m., police were dispatched to the report of a crash. Police spoke to Samuels, who stated that he had smoked marijuana hours before the crash. He was transported to a nearby hospital.

DUI:
Alexander Peffer, 21, of New Castle is charged with DUI after an incident on May 30th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:33 a.m., police observed a motorcycle come to a complete stop and stall at the intersection of Line Avenue and North Street and approached the operator, Peffer, to ask if he was alright due to him stumbling and trying to get his motorcycle off the road. Police then asked if Peffer had anything to drink or if he was under the influence of anything to which he said no. Police asked to conduct any form of Sobriety Tests on Peffer, which he refused. Officers ran the registration tag for the motorcycle which was found to be expired. Peffer was taken to the ECPD and later taken into the custody of a family member.

BURGLARY:
Jason Mulig, 49, of Ellwood City is charged with Burglary after an incident on May 28th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 3:59 a.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Portersville Rd. for a burglary alarm. After searching and looking through several security camera’s footages police found the vehicle at the scene and found the owner. Relating from the criminal complaint, police interviewed the owner of the vehicle who related to police that she drove Mulig around, made stops and eventually dropped Mulig nearest the point of reported burglary and later picked him up. According to the complaint, Mulig removed a ski mask and told her to start the car and drive before police arrived. She was unaware of what Mulig did according to criminal complaint. Additional surveillance corroborated the driver’s story to police.

SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A MINOR:
Timothy Carmichael, 43, of Geneva, Ohio, is charges with multiple counts including Aggravated Indecent Assault and Corruption of Minors, and Indecent Exposure after a reported sexual assault of a girl when she was 14 years old. According to a criminal complaint, the offense happened between June 2020 and May 6th of this year at a residence on Lopp Street. The teen, now 17, and her grandmother contacted police to report the matter leading police to locate and interview Carmichael. According to the complaint, and interview with Carmichael, he stated he would walk around the residence naked in 14-year-old’s presence and also admitted to reaching up the victim’s shirt and touching her bare chest as well as placing his hand down the front of her pants. In an interview with the victim, she related that Carmichael touched her a couple of times and he threatened her and to kill himself if she told anyone the report relates. The victim continue to relate that after a few times of this type of action, she told her mother, and that more recently Carmichael continued to speak to her sexually. Based on the interviews, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Carmichael.
