Dr. Anthony R. “Tony” DiBiagio, 96

Dr. Anthony R. “Tony” DiBiagio, 96, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, June 1st, 2024 at the Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.

Dr. DiBiagio was born on March 11th, 1928 in Houtzdale, PA to the late Romeo and Josephine (Gatti) DiBiagio. He had graduated from Houtzdale High School with the class of 1946, and from Lock Haven University in 1950 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. Anthony then enlisted with the U.S. Army on December 14th, 1950 and served with the U.S. Army Dental Corps until his honorable discharge on November 24th, 1952. In 1957 he graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dentistry earning a Degree in Dental Surgery and then set up his family dental practice in Ellwood City which he retired from in 2014. He is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Dr. DiBiagio is also a member of the Ellwood City Wolves Club, Ellwood City Historical Society, and the Sons of Italy #608. He enjoyed gardening, walking, and most of all spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Laura DiBiagio of Doyelstown, Chalfont, PA, grandchildren Kelly (Sam) Hanik and Brian (Lauren) DiBiagio, great-grandchildren Bailey Hanik, Joey Hanik, Fallon DiBiagio, and Gavin DiBiagio, son-in-law Michael Suppa and his children Beth (Tom) DeLawder and Bruno (Mattias) Suppa and their children Jackson and Jayden DeLawder and Asa Michael Suppa. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jorunn DiBiagio, his brother-in-law Erik Bodholt and many nieces and nephews.

Dr. DiBiagio was preceded in death by his parents, wife Josephine “Dollie” (Haag) DiBiagio whom he married on August 6th, 1955 and passed away on May 9th, 1988, daughter Dr. Mary Ann DiBiagio Suppa, sisters Esther Coval and Nilda Bodholt, and brothers Raymond DiBiagio and Elmo DiBiagio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 6th from 4-7 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.. Members of the Ellwood City Wolves Club are asked to meet at the funeral home on Thursday by 6:45 pm to conduct a memorial service. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 7th at 10:00 am at the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Catholic Center with Father Joseph Freedy officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. Members of the Veterans Honor Guard are asked to meet at the cemetery on Friday by 10:50 am to render full military honors.

    My sincere sympathy to the family on your loss of such a kind man. He was my dentist since around 1961.In fact a crown he did for me about 50 years ago a dentist in Florida remarked that it was done by a real artist. He was so meticulous and He was so kind like “Mr. Roger’s” . 🙏❤️
