Folino Stage is about to shine again with a lot of sparkle and spunk as 17 local ladies take the stage for the 7th annual Little Miss Firecracker Pageant.
The show will begin at 11:15am after the raising of the flag, on Friday June 28th kicking off the Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food and Entertainment Festival.
2023 Winner, Reagen Boariu
The event this year will be lead by new emcee Rochelle Spagnolo and former Little Miss Firecracker title holders Reagan Boariu (2023 winner) and Dia Greco (2018 winner) as pageant assistants. Rochelle Spagnolo is the proud owner of local clothing store Konsignment Konnections right on Main Street.
“I’m most excited about getting to know the girls. I’m hopeful that I’ll make them feel comfortable enough to allow their personalities to shine,” says Spagnolo.
Jenn Greco , pageant chairperson, adds, “I’m thrilled to have Rochelle emcee this year! She definitely has what it takes to charm the audience and make this a successful event! I can’t wait to watch her do what she does best! She was made for this!”
Our 3 judges this year are Zoe Rinker, Richard Griffith and Mindy Wilson. The participants will be judged on stage by their stage presence, patriotic outfit and a brief interview. The interview is based on their hobbies/interests from their application. Ages range from 5-8 years old and have to reside in Ellwood city or Riverside school districts.
All participants will receive trophies , sashes and a small gift. There will be a winner for patriotic spirit award (highest score in outfit division), 1st runner up (2nd highest overall score) and one overall winner (highest overall score) will be crowned Little Miss Firecracker 2024 and will receive a winner sash and crown.
The winner will get to ride in all of Ellwood’s annual parades for the year and will get featured in local newspaper articles etc.
Last years winner, Reagan Boariu will lead us in the pledge of allegiance at the beginning of the pageant and get to crown this years winner on stage at the end. We have a beautiful crown that is donated by Blocher Jewelers. “We have a lot more girls this year and I’m so excited to watch them all rock the stage in their own unique ways! “ Greco said.
