THEFT:
On February 14th at approximately 2:30 a.m., PA State Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Reserve Square, Wayne Township for a report theft from a motor vehicle. According to the report, a known victim, 29-year-old male, reported that he had reviewed video surveillance of his property and there was an unknown actor(s) observed near his vehicles. After checking his property, it was discovered that items were stolen from his flatbed tow truck and from the tool box on his trailer the report relates. Investigation is on-going, anyone with information is asked to contact PA State Police and referenced incident number PA24-202598
HIT AND RUN:
Jacob Ogden, 22, of Poland, OH, and Heidi Collins-Houk, 57, of Wampum, were in a accident on February 13th at approximately 6:36 p.m. according to a criminal complaint. Police investigated the collision and found no injuries. Police reports state that Unit 1 struck Unit 2 causing Unit 2 to collide with Unit 3.
DUI:
Richelle Rozzo, 52, of Ellwood City, is charged with DUI after an incident on November 16th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:27PM, police were called to check on the welfare of two females inside of a vehicle at Dollar General in Slippery Rock Township. When police arrived they made contact with the female passenger. The passenger appeared to be under the influence and stated to police after being asked where the driver was. The passenger related Rozzo was inside the store. When Police spoke to Rozzo she stated that she had not taken any substances, though clearly under the influence. Police searched the vehicle and asked Rozzo to conduct a Standard Field Sobriety test for which she failed. Charges were filed.
NARCOTICS:
Nichole Carothers, 46, of Ellwood City, is charged with possession of narcotics after an incident on December 31st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 9:31PM,
police observed Carothers speeding and conducted a traffic stop on Old Route 422. After stopping the vehicle and making contact with Carothers, she seemed nervous the report relates. Police conducted a vehicle search and found narcotics, which Carothers stated she did not have a prescription for. Carothers was released at the scene, but is ordered to appear before the court for the charges including speeding, use/possession of drug paraphernalia.
POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER:
Daniel Dourlain Sr., 40, of Ellwood City, is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalis after a HIDTA Task Force operation on February 16th. According to criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:28 a.m., police and members of the Lawrence County HIDTA Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Martin Avenue, Ellport and made entry to find Dourlain, the target of the investigation, and four others in the residence, all whom were detained. Dourlain admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia and drug residue found in his bedroom the report relates. After speaking with him and transporting all adults to Ellwood City Police Department for further questioning, the residence was searched with evidence photographed and/or seized that included clear plastic baggies containing suspected cocaine, digital weigh scale containing suspected cocaine residue, $450.00 cash, silver spoon and silver knife containing suspected residue, plastic container containing suspected marijuana, baggies containing numerous unknown oval tablets, a canister containing suspected crack cocaine and chore boy, suspected glass crack pipes, cut straws containing drug residue. Due to the evidence seized, Dourlain Sr., is charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 27-year-old Danyel Shaw, of Ellwood City, is also charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia after it was the canister containing suspected crack cocaine was found in her possession during the initial entry and search the report relates.
