Evelyn B. Wolfe, 100

Evelyn B. Wolfe, 100, of Beaver Falls passed away at Quality Life Services, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Andrew W and Alyce Opal (Henry) Herring and was born October 13, 1923, in Ellwood City.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters; Lynn Slavic and her husband Thomas of North Sewickley Twp, Debra Baich and her husband Stephen of Joplin, MO, Valerie Smith and her husband Gregg of Sharpsville, her grandchildren; Tonya Hyndman and her husband Brett, Bryan Slavic and his wife Marie, Matthew Slavic and his wife Katie, Craig Baich, Trent Baich and his wife Bonnie, Andrew Smith, Alex Smith and Katrina, her great-grandchildren; Katelynn, Ashley, Nicole, and Julia Hyndman, Salvatore and Sabrina Slavic, M.J, Samantha and Ezekiel Slavic, and Kaden Smith

She was born and raised in Ellwood City and was a 1941 graduate of Lincoln High School. She married the love of her life, Walter on June 23, 1944, in California, when he was on leave, from the US Navy during World War II. Evelyn was very active in the Girl Scouts. She was a longtime member and deaconess at Calvin Presbyterian in Ellwood City. She was an active member of the North Sewickley Women’s Club, she sold Avon and she loved to read. Married to a US Navy Submariner, she and Walter attended Submarine Conventions all over the US. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Walter L. Wolfe, and one brother; Alvin Henry.

Friends may call on the family from 4:00PM-7:00PM, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Turner Funeral Home at 500 6thStreet in Ellwood City, with a Funeral Service to be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00am at Turner’s with Rev. Sean Brubaker, officiating.

Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made, in Evelyn’s name to Calvin Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City.

Arrangements are entrusted to the TURNER FUNERAL and CREMATION SERVICES located at 6th and Park in Ellwood City.
