Mrs. Mary Jo Cioffi, 82, of Ellwood City passed away on Sunday, November 26th, 2023 at the Haven Convalescent Home in New Castle.
Mrs. Cioffi was born the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Maria (Zampini) Fazioli in Ellwood City on August 9th, 1941. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959 and is a member of the Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Over the years, Mary Jo had worked for several local law firms as a Legal Secretary. A great homemaker Mary Jo enjoyed flower gardening, landscaping, loved to cook and was known for her wonderful homemade macaroni at Christmas time, reading, and in her younger days playing tennis. She volunteered during the Annual Ellwood City Arts, Crafts and Food Festival at the Wolves Club booth. She also loved spending the winters on Anna Marie Island and in Bradenton, Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Dr. Joseph Cioffi whom she married on June 27th, 1964, sons and daughters-in-law Chris and Laure Cioffi of Ellport and Gregory and Erin Cioffi of Butler, grandchildren Joseph Cioffi and Gabrielle Cioffi, sister Joann Vettica of Sante Fe Springs, CA, brother Guido Fazioli of Ellwood City, sister-in-law, Ferma Choff, nieces, Gerianne (Dominick) Motto and Carol (Paul) Cutajar, and nephews, Herman and David Petti.
Mrs. Cioffi was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law Felix “Fuzzy” and Joan Fazioli, nephew Dr. Lawrence “Larry” Fazioli, sister and brother-in-law, Herman and Carmel Petti and brother-in-law Hank Navarro.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 pm and again on Saturday from 10-10:30 am at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Divine Grace Parish, Holy Redeemer Church. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
