Lloyd A. Myers Sr., 82

Lloyd A. Myers Sr, 82 of Franklin Township passed away on Wednesday November 15, 2023 at Concordia Hospice in Baden.

Lloyd was born September 30, 1941 in McKeesport, PA to the late John B. and Ann Katherine Walsh Myers.

He was preceded in death by his mother on March 27, 1943, and by his father in 1996, Lloyd was raised by Lee and Flora Zellefrow of Kittanning, PA.

A 1959 graduate of Kittanning High School, he was married on September 18, 1961, to Sandra (Foster) Myers, of Rural Valley, PA. They were married for 55 years when she passed away on May 8, 2017. They have six children: Terri (Shannon) Delong, Lloyd Jr. (Heidi), Sherri, Susan, Jason (Wendy), and Adam (Kelly), He is also survived by 13 grandchildren Heather Pitrelli, John (Emily), Mario, Giovanna and Nino Greco; Natalie and Erika Holzer; Jackson and Beck Myers; Morgan, Drake, Winston, and Emily Myers. As well as 2 great grandchildren, Maxton and Loretta.

An avid hunter, Lloyd hunted throughout the United States and in numerous foreign countries. He maintained homes in Ellwood City PA, Kittanning, PA and in Key West FL, where he enjoyed fishing and boating. He owned and operated many businesses over the years, including Myers Sanitary Service (1965), Myers Chemical Transport (1984), Myers Sport Shop (1969), and most recently (1968) Dear John, Inc. Now operated by his sons, Lloyd Jr and Adam. Lloyd was of the Protestant faith. He was a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Ellwood Wampum Rod & Gun Club, the Masonic Order, Syria Shrine, Valley of New Castle Consistory, the Ellwood City Rotary Club, where he served as Director and President, and the Ellwood City Jaycees, where he held a variety of offices and was also selected as the Jaycees “Young Man of the Year” in 1968. While in business with Myers Chemical Transport and Myers Sanitary Service, Lloyd held the position of President of the Pennsylvania Liquid Waste Haulers Association. He loved to buy and sell land, and did so, throughout the state of Pennsylvania. He also enjoyed gardening, his many dogs and cats, as well as raising cattle on his farm, which he bought from Ira Brown in 1968. It was there, in North Sewickley Township, Ellwood City, PA, that he and his wife (Sandy) built their homestead and raised their children.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 19, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. A Masonic Service will be held at 4:00 pm. Funeral Services will be on Monday November 20 at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Pastor Nathaniel Wilson will conduct the services. Interment will follow in Kittanning Cemetery.
