Mrs. Kim E. Gorgas, 71, of New Castle passed away on Saturday. November 4th, 2023 at the UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Kim was born on February 13th, 1952 in Ellwood City, to the late Lee E. and Dorothy (Zimmerman) Koah. She graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1970 and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Kim worked for a few hospitals in the area including, Ellwood, Hillview Manor, and The Haven Convalescent Home. She was a member of the Ellport Presbyterian Church. Kim enjoyed singing and karaoke, she was one of five members who belonged to the “Four Friends Group”.
She is survived by her son, James T. “JT” Gorgas Jr. of New Castle, sister-in-law, Donna Koah of Ellwood City, nieces, Autumn (Todd) Heinz, Heather (Frank) Pisano, and Emily (Jay) Lutz, and her house-mate, James Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James T. Gorgas Sr. who passed away on November 11th, 2005, and her brother, Mark Koah.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday at 3pm at the Slippery Rock Cemetery with Pastor John Davis officiating, anyone who wishes to be present should be at the cemetery by 2:50 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc..
