Mr. Kenneth W. Horrell, 64, of New Sewickley Township passed away on Saturday morning, October 28th, 2023, in his daughters home surrounded by his family.
Ken was born in Ellwood City on July 18th, 1959 to the late Marion (Campbell) Horrell. He had graduated from Lincoln High School, Robert Morris College earning a Bachelors Degree, and Beaver County Community College with a Degree in Business. He had worked at the Ellwood City Forge, and as a truck driver both over the road and local. Most recently he worked for Alliance Food Service and then Performance Food Groups as a logistics manager. Ken was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Joan (Surenda) Horrell, his daughter Dawn Surenda Henley and her husband Jeff Henley, grandchildren who where the light of his life Alexis Surenda, Andrew Henley, Tyler Henley, Riley Henley, and Bella Henley, his sister Saundra Gebhardt and her children Trista Stillwagon, Amanda Gibson and Justin Gebhart, his brothers-in-law John Surenda, Frank and Cheryl Surenda, Paul and Paula Leasure, and Mark Surenda. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Nicholas Leasuer, Diana Godfrey, Christopher Leasure, Mathew Leasure, Breanna Leasure, Michael Surenda, Amanda Zielinske, and Steven Surenda, and a multitude number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, uncle Howard Campbell, mother and father-in-law Marion and Frank Surenda, and his brother-in-law Ronald Gebhardt.
The high light of his days was going to support his grand kids in any sport they were involved in. He was a coach for the Ellwood City Packers for 13 years, and coached his grandsons in football for the Freedom Lil Bulldogs for 3 years. Kenneth was also a member of the Hungarian Home and the Sons of Italy in Ellwood City. Kens passions were cruising with his wife, playing golf, watching football, playing bingo, attending any and all sporting events involving his grandchildren and giving his son-in-law the bird everyday.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2:00 pm until the time of the service at 6:00 pm at the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory Inc.
