Delpha M. Cearfoss, 88, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away at Passavant Health Center on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 after suffering from dementia for many years.
Born in Ellwood City on November 13, 1934, Delpha was the daughter of the late William and Blanche Edna Powell Scheidemantle, Sr. She was a 1953 graduate of Lincoln High School and a member of the former Knox Presbyterian Church. Delpha had worked in the lab at the old Ellwood City Hospital on Border Avenue and later worked in the office for the library and cafeteria in the Riverside Middle School. She had also worked for Beltone Hearing Aids. Delpha enjoyed her time with her family and friends, especially parties, camping trips and card parties. She was also a traveler, going on many cruises and bus trips with family and friends. She spent many winters in Key West with Norma and Lee.
Delpha is survived by her three children, Sharon (Scott Forney) Taranto of Ellport, Norma (Lee) Prengaman of Portersville and Norman (Becky Williams) Cearfoss, Jr. of Fombell, daughter-in-law, Debbie Cearfoss of Ellwood City, Sister, Donna Anderson of Zelienople, six grandchildren, Joseph (Jessie) Taranto, Michael (Sam Grosz) Taranto, Haley (Jon Cleek) Antoniotti, William Prengaman, Andy Prengaman, Ted (Greg) Campo-Prengaman, seven great grandchildren, Destiny Lawson-Robles, Gauge Robles, Reese Robles, Jayden Haine, Ben Prengaman, Lincoln Campo-Prengaman, Wes Sullivan and a great great granddaughter, Bailey Austin.
Besides her parents, Delpha was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Alex “Boo” Antoniotti, a brother, Bill Scheidemantle, three sisters, Betty Martin, Patty Lon and Linda Earlin, a granddaughter, Amy Starr Sullivan and her former husband, Norman Cearfoss, Sr.
Funeral Services will be private.
Delpha’s family would like to thank the staff of Brandywine Household for their loving care of their mother.
